A look back at the power of purpose-driven partnerships to reduce waste and fight hunger
At McLaren, we often talk about logistics and warehousing as more than moving freight. But every so often, we are reminded in a very real way of what that means. Seeing GenesisHOPE, one of the organizations in our Detroit facility, featured on FOX 2 Detroit was one of those moments that made us pause and reflect on the bigger picture of our work.

GenesisHOPE, together with Metro Food Rescue and Sharing Excess, is taking on the challenge of food waste—a problem that impacts farmers, families, and communities every day. By rescuing produce that might otherwise be discarded and redirecting it to those in need, they are turning logistics into something far greater: a tool for health, access, and dignity. It’s a powerful example of how supply chains, when used with purpose, can strengthen communities in ways that reach well beyond business.
The results are both humbling and inspiring. Since launching operations in our Detroit space, the partnership has provided more than three million servings of fresh produce. In just the first two months alone, 650,000 pounds of fruits and vegetables were distributed to families across Detroit. Those numbers don’t just represent shipments—they represent meals on tables, nourishment for children, and relief for families who might otherwise go without.
More Than a Warehouse
Looking back on this initiative, we are reminded that a warehouse is not just square footage. It is a place where impact can take root when the right people, resources, and missions come together. For us, this partnership reinforces why we do what we do: because logistics is not just about moving goods, it’s about creating connections that make a difference.
As we reflect on the work happening under our roof, we feel both proud and grateful. Proud to provide the space that makes this effort possible, and grateful for the reminder that when logistics and purpose align, the results can change lives.
